Avifauna Supplement – Species Index

This page provides access to maps, tetrad occupancy tables and relative abundance bandwidth data for all species for which such items are deemed useful. whether these appeared in the printed book or not. For information on the criteria for inclusion, the format of the data and how to view it on the species pages, follow this link. It is recommended that you do this before working with these pages.

There are two indices available below – you may select either to access the relevant data. The left-hand column shows species in taxonomic order, as used in the Avifauna. The right-hand column shows species in alphabetical order. The taxonomic index is subdivided into bird families. For families with more than one member, you may access the page containing information for all members of that group by selecting the symbol following the family name heading . To go directly to a particular species, however, use the link for the bird of interest below that heading. This will take you directly to that species on the family page (but see note below).

The family Anatidae (waterfowl) is very well represented in Shropshire. To avoid having a very long family page to scroll through, Anatidae have been divided into two subgroups below; the first contains the geese and swans, the second the ducks.

If a family contains a single species, go directly to that species by selecting the species name link. The same procedure should be used for the alphabetic listing.

Note. Occassionally, using a species name link will not take you to the exact place where that species is represented on the family page. Waiting a second or two may rectify this. If not, scrolling a few lines will take you to the correct place on the page.
